Gueesss What?

So it's official. We are pregnant with baby #2! I am 7 weeks (this Saturday). Baby is growing steadily and has been keeping mama oh so nauseous. Much, much more than I was with Barrett so we're teasing that this must be a girl. Although, healthy is what we want.

The facts:
Supposed due date: July 31, 2009
Sex: unknown until March
Level of nausea: high to extremely high (I didn't know one could go two entire days feeling at every moment they could throw up).
Names we are thinking about: Lucy, Grace, Evangeline, Easton, mmm... that's it for now.

Barrett's Fire Party!

Sound the Alarm & Yell Yahoo! Barrett Brahmer just Turned Two!

We had a super fun time celebrating our little man's 2nd bday! I made him a firetruck cake and my artistic flair... well... flaired up on me and I went a little overboard! It was sooo much fun! I made a deep, deep red buttercream frosting that took 2 FULL jars of Wilton red no-taste food gel. I was a little worried it would stain all the kids mouths. However, no stains were made to mouths or carpet. =) After cake and presents we walked over to the local firestation (2 min away) and the amazing firemen at the station gave a fabulous presentation on fire safety. They pulled out the fire truck, turned on the lights, let the kids go inside, let them try on the fire helmets, etc! We also go to spray the water hose! It was a blast and I am so grateful for the time the firemen took to make our party wonderful!
This video is Barrett telling me about his birthday party later that night! He just cracks me up!

Great Wolf Fun!

Great Wolf Lodge ~ September 2009

On our Way!

The Lobby Fireplace- also where they do story time

Our tent table at the cafeteria! Super fun!

The inside of the water park! Kiddy area is below right. Larger slides are middle of photo and the massive slides you can see outside the windows on the upper left. You enter them from the inside but they are so big they extend outside

Breakfast and Starbucks!

The arcade. Notice Bear is in his jammies!

The ride home. =)

We recently made our way up to the Northwest's version of Disneyland- a magical place called The Great Wolf Lodge! It was sooo much fun. It was a mix between a cruise and a super fun water park.
Upon checking in, we received wrist bands which were a little dangerous. They served as our key to the room and as a credit card (dangerous part). All we had to do was swipe our wristband at the lobby Starbucks (no joke) and there we had our two lattes. Comes in handy when you are in a swimsuit and there's no room for a purse or wallet.
They also had all different types of fun depending on the age group- an arcade of games, a room dedicated to xbox and such, an adult spa and a little girl sundae themed spa, a craft room for the youngsters, a few adult bars, and there huge cafeteria with made-to-order specialties. We only ate breakfast there, but our made-to-order omelets were great. There were loads of choices- donuts, oat meals, a juice bar, waffles, bagels, muffins, quiches, cereals, yogurts, etc. Yuummoo. I would only imagine their other mealtimes were just as deeelish.
On top of all that, there is the raging water park. It's 85 degrees inside and has lots to offer. The kiddy pool is where we spent most of our time. The water came up to Barrett's little chest so he was able to get around that area with ease. They have smaller water slides for his 2 year age and then some medium ones for a little older kids. Although Scotty took him down a really big one and Barrett had to go down all by himself. He did great, but looked a little overwhelmed. No tears, but when we asked if we wanted to go again he says, "no.. noo.. noo."
We'd recommend the resort to families with kids about 2 and up. Luckily Scott and I were able to go on one of the massive (and I mean massive) water slides together but they don't have babysitting so I would plan accordingly.

Barrett's first time Sledding!

Woo-Hoo! We went up to Mt. Hood for some sledding and fun with friends last weekend! It was such a great time. Barrett had a smile plastered on his face the entire time! He just loved it! His two friends Psalm (about 18 months) and Camilla (3 years) road with Bear on the sled.

Skiing at Mt. Hood

Scott and I took our day off and went skiing together up at Mt. Hood! It was a blast and the weather could not have been better! Scott had not been up on skis since he was a little boy (I'm converting him over to the ski side) since he usually snowboards. But, he did great and took to it like a pro. We did blue runs the whole day and even made it up to the highest lift open! You could see all the way to Sisters! It was just beautiful! After our time on the slopes, we hit the lodge for Timberline's world famous hot chocolate. To my disbelief, the hot chocolate came from an automatic machine... we could see this because we were sitting in the bar area... I must say, I was a little disappointed as I expected something handcrafted. Regardless of the machinery... it was still enjoyable to be sipping a hot drink, on a beautful snowy day, with my love by my side after a day of skiing! It was a great date!
